Last Monday (October 28), the library kicked-off National Novel Writing Month @NaNoWriMo with our traditional anecdote-sharing and pizza-pie-eating gathering of energetic writers. Although this is the third year in a row that we are a host site, last year’s kick off party was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. This year Jeff Deck, Maren Tirabassi, Tammi Truax and Terri Bruce, all past WriMo’s and published authors, offered advice to eager, prospective participants. Crystal Paradis, social media mogul and writer, summed up the evening beautifully on her blog.
Interested in participating? Consider…. and decide by tomorrow…to commit to writing 50,000 original words during the month of November! Write, write, write with abandon! Let the words flow! The library offers scads of books on writing and invites you to come in to find your perfect place to write, whether you crave silence or company.
Pizza pies for the kick off party were donated by Flatbread Company (Portsmouth). Thank you once again to Kevin Pine, pizza pie maker extraordinaire!
